MCAS-S is a spatial software shell and can display spatial data but lacks full geographical information systems (GIS) functionality. It allows rapid combination of spatial datasets and specification of criteria and weightings to develop models. This allows real-time development of accurate information with interested parties/experts.
Stakeholders attended workshops to guide a detailed MCAS-S analysis to answer critical climate change questions in the Swan region. Simon Neville from Ecotones and Associates facilitated the process, produced the maps and wrote an accompanying report.
